Week 10 - Proverb of the Week

Our big question for our learning this term has been around how we can treasure the cultural diversity of others.

Reflect on your thinking about this proverb and also about the learning around diversity.

  1. It is very important to embrace diversity because if we didn't have diversity we all would be the same don't wish to be someone else who is very talented, famous or has a nice home, Just be yourself and you will have a great time living.

  3. We are all different - personalities, how we look, our culture, and our strengths and weaknesses. We need to celebrate our diversity and celebrate the differences that others have and what they can do that we can’t. We each have strengths that we can share and learn from.

  4. It is extremely important to embrace diversity because if we didn't we wouldn't be caring about others and that would make you not a very nice person and a very selfish person. If we embrace diversity then the world will become a better place to live and everyone will be happy and be at peace with each other. Together we can make it a better world for everyone.

I think that this proverb means that together we can reach our full potential and that we can help others do the same if we all understand and treasure the cultural diversity of others. We can learn about others to make new friends and find new knowledge.

Our learning around diversity this year has been incredible I have learnt so much and am excited to continue exploring diversity throughout the remainder of the year.

I think the proverb links to the learner quality: investigator because we have have been exploring, researching and finding out. I think the learning so far this year links to the learner qualities: Investigator because we have been exploring, researching and finding out. Communicator because we have to speak up to get our ideas included. Team player because we had to participate, include, compromise and coperate. Creator because we had to create a presentation to put on this event.

I think that this proverb links to the value: Respect because we have been celebrating and TREASURING the cultural diversity of others. I think the learning so far this year links to the values: Respect because we have been celebrating and TREASURING the cultural diversity of others and Curiosity because we have been inquiring into things about our chosen culture and finding out.

  7. It means that cultural diversity is not just the people around you, You accept all the cultures in the world.

We also have to respect the cultures because that they are interesting and that everybody's culture is interesting.
